November 30th is finally here! That means that another incredible year of NaNoWriMo is in the books, and another great story has officially been penned, new friends have been made, and we can all celebrate by enjoying the holidays without deadlines or obligations and then we can get back to unlocking our inner editor and tackling our drafts. For now, our only goal is to celebrate!

excited happy new year GIF

It's been such an incredible month getting writing done. As I mentioned in the beginning of the month, I was a bit worried about being able to tackle everything since I'm in college now and last year I had a lot of struggles with getting my writing done in between lectures and papers and homework and all of that general craziness. But this year, I managed to find time in my schedule to actually sit down and schedule writing sprints and dedicate myself to getting it done -- and I even joined in on some of the virtual write-ins for the first time, which was great! As for my actual progress, I managed to cross the 50K threshold SUPER early after writing nonstop and really making myself buckle down and get my work done. In addition to hitting 50K, I also managed to finish the first draft of my current WIP, which means its time to get it ready for next year's #PitchWars! I'm super, super excited with everything I accomplished this November.

What about your progress? How did you do with this year's NaNoWriMo endeavor? Are you planning on using the last 24 hours to get some more words in? Comment down below and let me know -- I'm super nosy and I like to know what all of you guys are up to! Whether or not you managed to cross the 50K threshold, you should all be super proud of yourselves. I mean, just think about the concept of NaNoWriMo as a whole. You were brave and incredible enough to willingly take on that challenge in the first place, in which case, props to you!

I'd also like to shoutout the College Bloggers group chat -- especially Camille and Taylor! -- for being such helpful and amazing cheerleaders this month. It's been so great to have such a great community to lean on and it made me tear up with happiness when I would check Twitter and see all of the writers and authors supporting one another on their NaNoWriMo adventures. I seriously love this community so much.

And that's all for me -- off to go celebrate by decorating my room and drinking as much hot cocoa as possible because the holidays are officially here and that means I can take some time off from writing for the next month and just take time to relax and be.

What an excellent #NaNoWriMo2017 it's been, for me and everyone else -- I'm so glad I took the plunge again, and I'm looking forward to my fifth year next year!

Waiting On Wednesday: Broken Beautiful Hearts by Kami Garcia

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine where we highlight some of the upcoming books we can't wait to read!

Emily's Waiting on:

Title: Broken Beautiful Hearts
Author: Kami Garica
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Imprint
Publication Date: February 6th, 2018

Summary: In this gritty, contemporary romance, an injured star athlete escapes to a small southern town after an abusive relationship leaves her reeling.
Before, Peyton was a star soccer player with the perfect boyfriend, Reed. Now, she has a torn knee ligament, a scholarship on the line, and a shattered sense of self. No one believes Reed pushed her, causing her injury, and Peyton just wants to leave the trauma behind. Living with her uncle and twin cousins in their small, football-obsessed town seems like a great escape plan.
There, Peyton meets Owen—high school classmate and local MMA fighter. Though Owen is charming and gentle, Peyton is determined to repress her growing attraction. But when her old and new life collide, Peyton must reclaim the truth of her past in order to save her future.
With southern charm, underground martial arts, and red-hot chemistry, Kami Garcia’s second contemporary romance will steal your breath away.
Beautiful Creatures is by far one of my favorite books so I'm willing to read anything by Kami Garcia. I've been totally into contemporary romances lately so this is just another to add to my TBR. I'll most likely have my hands on a copy of this the second it comes out so be sure to look for a review!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on My Winter TBR!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish in which we create bookish lists about everything from our favorite characters to love triangles and everything in between!
This Week's Topic: Books On My Winter TBR!

The holidays are officially here (and winter is coming up on us fast!), which means that it's just about time to settle in with some good books in a chilly night alongside a cup of hot cocoa and just get reading as it snows outside. The image seriously makes me so excited, and I'm already eagerly awaiting the first snow fall here -- even though I know I'll be regretting that pretty much as soon as it happens and I have to commute outside in it. But until then, I'm going to sit here and happily dream about the books I'll be adding to my winter TBR to ride out this chilly season. Let's do this!

10. The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

9. The Education of Margot Sánchez by Lilliam Rivera

8. Say You'll Remember Me by Katie McGarry

1. Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle

(Isn't this one just perfect for the winter mood?)

So, these were the ten books that I've added to my winter TBR. There are a lot of older books in addition to some new ones, so I'm excited to get a nice little mix in. I'm already all set to snuggle under a cozy blanket with a warm drink and get reading -- here's to counting down the days until winter break!

Books We NEED This Cyber Monday

black friday GIF

Pretty much everyone understands what the craziness of Black Friday is all about -- especially if you live in America and/or celebrate Thanksgiving. The day after the delicious food fest is always filled with hours of shopping -- whether it be for yourself or other people -- great deals, and lots of annoying crowds. But Black Friday's much tamer cousin, Cyber Monday, is so much more of a delight to deal with. Because, after all, what's better than doing all of your shopping online from the comfort of your bed with a mug of warm tea, no crowds required? That's right, nothing.

In honor of Cyber Monday, I've decided to compile a list of all the books I'd be buying today if I had unlimited funds on my credit card and wouldn't have to worry about actually depleting my bank account. Hopefully I'll be able to snag a few of these on some book-shopping sites such as Barnes & Noble, Amazon, BookOutlet, and Book Depository -- but I'm not that worried, because whatever I don't end up nabbing today will make excellent additions to my ever-growing Christmas list! ;-)

So without further ado, here are 16 books I'd buy right now to celebrate Cyber Monday if I could (and I possibly may!), because I just neeeeeeeed them so badly!

We also reached out to some of you guys and asked if anyone had any good tips for online sites to get books at good prices, and there were some helpful bits of info, which we dropped down below!

I use booko, it compares all the store prices and I just grab the book for the cheapest I can :)

So that's it for today's post! Go forth, snuggle under some nice, comfy blankets, and commence with your Cyber Monday shopping! Also: GUYS THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE AND I'M SO EXCITED AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Happy shopping!
